
Crane Naval Base Radio & Communication Equipment Storage Project
Tri-State Systems, Inc. completed a multi-phase relocation and installation project to support the storage of radio and communication equipment for the U.S. Navy at Crane Naval Base.
The project began with the removal and relocation of an existing mobile shelving system. During this phase, the original system was disassembled and prepared for relocation, existing flooring and decking materials were removed and disposed of, and exposed concrete anchors were ground down to prepare the space for future use.
The second phase focused on constructing a new mobile storage system in a different room. Tracks were carefully placed, leveled, and anchored to ensure proper system operation. Non-shrinking grout was installed beneath the tracks and decking to provide long-term stability and support. A new floor base was then constructed using OSB plywood, followed by the installation of grey vinyl flooring tiles to create a durable, finished surface throughout the system footprint.
The final phase involved relocating shelving materials into the new space and completing assembly of the mobile storage system. To maximize storage capacity while accommodating existing overhead piping, a stationary shelving unit was custom cut and modified to fit the available space.
The completed installation provides organized, efficient storage for radio and communication equipment while making the most of the available footprint. Through careful planning and execution across multiple phases, the project successfully relocated and reestablished critical storage infrastructure while maintaining a professional, finished appearance.
